Mu Theta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority , Inc. was chartered on the campus of the Lewis University on May 23, 1975. At the leadership of Clairice Boswell and the members of Joliet Alumnae Chapter (currently Joliet Area South Suburban Chapter). Mu Theta’s first initiates were the following 8 Undergraduate women:

Mu Theta was recipient of Delta’s National Headquarters Chapter Innovative Scholarship and Financial Aid Projects (Chapter Seed Grants) to address the need to increased awareness and knowledge of college preparation for high school students.
