Mu Theta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority , Inc. was chartered on the campus of the Lewis University on May 23, 1975. At the leadership of Clairice Boswell and the members of Joliet Alumnae Chapter (currently Joliet Area South Suburban Chapter).
Mu Theta’s first initiates were the following 8 Undergraduate women:

Increase Awareness of individuals of AIDS/HIV in the world, Encouraging all to get tested. Our annual Walk with Regional Care and World Aids Day in December help us increase awareness.

Mu Theta was recipient of Delta’s National Headquarters Chapter Innovative Scholarship and Financial Aid Projects (Chapter Seed Grants) to address the need to increased awareness and knowledge of college preparation for high school students.
